All change in North London.
Hot on the heels of Tottenham’s sacking of Mauricio Pochettino, big rivals Arsenal have followed suit, with Unai Emery the latest Premier League manager to be shown the door.
Freddie Ljungberg takes temporary charge of the Gunners for the time being, with his first task away at Norwich City.
This will be the first league meeting between these sides since the 2015/16 Premier League season. Norwich picked up a point courtesy of a 1-1 draw in this corresponding fixture, with Arsenal winning the reverse 1-0.
Timm Klose, Josip Drmic, Grant Hanley and Jamal Lewis are all out injured for the home side. Arsenal do have a number of injury doubts, but Dani Ceballos is the only confirmed absentee at present.
Norwich snapped a seven-match winless run last time out with a shock win at Goodison Park, and will be looking to carry on the good work now back in front of their own fans.
The Canaries’ overall struggles have generally been reflected at home though, losing four of six here, including each of their last three and conceding two or more in all bar one of those fixtures.
Arsenal are without a win in five – seven in all competitions – in the Premier League and it’s tough to know what to expect of them here following Emery’s departure. They have won only one of six on the road, failing to score in each of their last two and registering more than one goal only once.
Anything could happen here, almost solely depending upon Arsenal’s motivation as they do still have the significantly more talented side on paper. We will take a chance on Ljungberg having a galvanising effect and take an away win in this one.
Prediction: Norwich City 0-2 Arsenal
