Jiangsu Suning have captured their first Chinese Super League title.

They dethtoned champions Guangzhou Evergrande in the process, defeating them 2-1 in the second leg of the grand final. The first leg had ended goalless.

It is Jiangsu’s first top flight title, and together with Evergrande and third-placed Beijing Guoan, will represent China in the AFC Champions League next season.

The CSL had resumed in July, with its 16 teams split into two zonal groups. Top four sides from each group went on to partake in the playoffs.

Jiangsu will also represent China in the FIFA World Club Cup, although the fate hangs in the balance with the pandemic far from over.
