Video game maker Konami has delayed the summer’s biggest update, the Euro 2020 update for PES 2020. It was due to come out on 30th April.

The real-life Euro 2020 tournament, which was due to take place this summer, was postponed due to the onslaught of the coronavirus outbreak.

And which means the launch of a physical version of PES 2020 with a Euro 2020 cover has also been ditched.

Konami insisted the planned PES 2020 DLC will come out eventually, and its Euro 2020 esports tournament will continue this year, with a final pencilled in for 23rd-24th May.

This tournament was planned to host finals in London in July, but it will now take place online.

Europe’s continental showpiece was due to be held this July, but will now be held from 11th June to 11th July 2021.

The free data update would have included the official UEFA Euro 2020 tournament mode, as well as all 55 UEFA national teams and latest kits, plus Wembley Stadium.

Other content coming throughout the tournament would have included Featured Players, accessible in myClub.

The Team of the Tournament will also be available in myClub once the tournament has come to an end.

Released last September, eFootball PES 2020 features new dribbling skills, first touch techniques and ball physics. According to Konami, these were developed in partnership with Andrés Iniesta.
